Life Routes project begins its second phase of funding

Sixteen young people from Life Routes projects have just completed an exciting workshop examining art and sculpture with the National Gallery. This activity marks Life Routes going into its second phase of activity and builds on the considerable success that it has had to date. The programme aims to work with 360 professionals over the next three years, in order to extend the reach to at least 4,000 more young people.

Simon Ainslie, Managing Director, Nokia UK Ltd said:

“Creative workshops such as this are a good example of how Nokia UK’s Life Routes programme reaches out to some of our society’s most vulnerable young people.  By helping young people to realise their potential, we hope that the programme will help them to lead healthy and successful lives, contributing positively to their local communities and encouraging them to have strong relationships with their family and peers.”

Life Routes engages with people aged between 11-19 from areas identified by the UK Government as requiring specific regeneration and development. It is formed of a network of local programmes funded by Nokia and managed by the National Children’s Bureau. Local programmes are delivered by professionals who work directly with vulnerable young people.
